Shadowy Deal For Computers Proves Costly

TWO cheap computers have cost Adam Michael Tucker almost $1300 in Maitland Local Court.
Tucker, 26, unemployed, of David Avenue, East Maitland, told magistrate Stephen Jackson yesterday he was walking home intoxicated from a club one night when he came across a group of men who offered to sell him the items.Tucker went to two pawnbrokers on May 26 where he filled in forms saying he was the owner and sold the computers for a total of $500. Police said the computers had been stolen from Maitland Technical and Further Education college on April 26.Tucker was fined $1200 for possessing suspected stolen goods and making false statements, and ordered to pay $70 court costs.
